Death Cab For Cutie, She & Him, Rogue Wave to appear on covers comp

Death Cab For Cutie, She & Him, Rogue Wave and Katy Perry among others will be appearing on a forthcoming compilation dubbed Sweetheart, which will be released by Starbucks Entertainment. The compilation, subtitled Sweetheart: Our Favorite Artists Sing Their Favorite Love Songs, will feature just that.

Death Cab will tackle the Cure's "Love Song," She & Him do Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put A Spell On You," Rogue Wave cover Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Maps" and Katy Perry tries Sam Sparro's "Black And Gold." A-Ha, Buddy Holly, Frank Sinatra and Coldplay are all impersonated, as well.

Sweetheart is due out next Friday, January 30th. The folks at Starbucks Ent. must be too wired on espresso to realize that Tuesday is the traditional music release day.
