Definitive Jux announce Spring and Summer 2009 releases

NYC hip-hop collective Definitive Jux has just announced release dates for two new albums and one re-release for this spring and summer.

First off, electro-funk and soul outfit Chin Chin will release the follow-up to their 2008 self-titled debut. The Flashing, The Fancing will be available March 10.

Next, the label will issue a remastered version of 1997’s Funcrusher Plus, the debut album from one of the most seminal and influential hip hop outfits of all time, Company Flow, which featured rapper and future Def Jux founder El-P. Out of print since 2006, Funcrusher Plus will again be available for purchase May 5.

Last but certainly not least, NY emcee and Weathermen crew member Cage is set to release his highly anticipated new album and follow-up to 2005’s Hell’s Winter. The album, Depart From Me, will be available June 29 and, for fans who can’t wait that long for new Cage material, a free seven-song digital EP is said to be on its way via Def Jux sometime this spring.
