Melvins to celebrate turning 25 with special shows

The Melvins will be celebrating their 25th anniversary with a few special shows in May.

The band will be playing two sets each show. The first will be played by their original lineup, with Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover on bass and original drummer Mike Dillard. For the second, Osborne, Crove and bassist Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, MadLove) will play the entirety of 1993’s Houdini. The band’s major label debut, Houdini is regarded as one of the band’s more accessible albums and featured co-production credit from Kurt Cobain.

The band had also played Houdini back in 2005 as part of the Don’t Look Back concert series.

Their last release was last year’s Nude With Boots on Ipecac.
