TV On The Radio, Public Enemy, Black Keys to play Roots Picnic fest

Public Enemy, TV On The Radio, the Black Keys and more will be playing the second annual Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.

The bands were handpicked by the Roots themselves and will be joined by fellow choices Santogold, Busdriver, the Pipes, Kid Cudi, Asher Roth, Back To Basics and Making Time.

Notably, Public Enemy will play their highly lauded It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back in full, backed by the Roots and Antibalas — the latter of whom AP readers may recognize from providing a brass section for British math-rockers Foals’ 2008 album, Antidotes.

DJs Jazzy Jeff and Cash Money will spin between sets while the Roots will play opening and closing sets at the all-day affair.

The festival is set to take place June 6th at the Festival Pier from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
