Green Day discography to see vinyl release; odds 'n sods box set

After the recent news that Green Day's first two full-lengths would be seeing a vinyl reissue by their label, Reprise, it's now been revealed that the band's entire catalog will see a vinyl release.

Besides the band's seven studio albums, 2001's International Superhits!, 2002's Shenanigans and 2005's live release, Bullet In A Bible, will also be issued on vinyl.

The albums will start being released on May 24th, starting with 1990's 39/Smooth and 1992's Kerplunk, and continue periodically until the November 10th release of Bullet In A Bible. All will be pressed on 140-gram vinyl, except their two best-selling albums, 1994's Dookie and 2004's American Idiot, which will receive the 180-gram treatment.

Due to the album lengths, around half will be pressed on double vinyl.

Additionally, there are plans to release a box set with all the band's singles, as well as those from their alter-egos, Foxboro Hot Tubs and the Network, as well as B-sides and live cuts, on July 21st.

Work is just about done on the band's new proper studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, slated for a May 2009 release. It, too, will be released on vinyl.
