Captain Piebald, they‘re our heroes...
SideOneDummy act Piebald are just about to take to the road on their co-headlining tour with Hot Rod Circuit (beginning tonight in Rochester, NY), but in an effort to help the environment (and lighten the load on their credit cards), the band have converted their 12-person van into a well-oiled machine: It now runs on vegetable oil! Guitarist Aaron Stuart, a former mechanic, and his friend Mike from GreaseNotGas.com, a not-for-profit website designed to educate the public on how to convert their vehicles to biodiesel, spent a measly $600 converting the van, and have since made a cross-country trek from Los Angeles to Boston without any incident; head out to see them on their current tour (in support of the Killa Bros And Killa Bees DVD/B-sides CD out Nov. 8) to see just how the thing works (and if you work at a fast-food restaurant, empty your grease traps and bring it to ‘em, would ya?
