Alkaline Trio leave Epic, plan to record new album this summer

At the Worcester, Massachusetts, stop of the band’s current tour with Saves The Day on May 3, Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba announced his band were no longer associated with Epic Records, the label responsible for releasing 2008’s Agony & Irony.

"We’re not on that record label anymore," Skiba said onstage. "We’re starting our own label and we’re gonna put out our own record and we’re making it this summer."

A representative for Epic Records could not be reached. The band also debuted a new, currently untitled song; you can watch it below.

This isn’t the first band to leave Epic Records this year; last month, Automatic Loveletter left the label.
