Unauthorized Blink-182 movie in the works

A movie based on the early days of Blink-182 is slated to begin shooting in April, however the band are not directly involved in the unauthorized biopic and have no ties to the production. California filmmaker Brandon Flores, 24, said in a recent interview that he plans to film the movie even if the band don’t sign off on it. "We’ve been trying to get in touch with their management, or even the guys in Blink, because we’d like to use their songs in the movie," said Flores. "Or maybe we could even get the guys to do a cameo in the film."

Tenatively titled Blink, the film (not a documentary) will follow the band’s original lineup–vocalist/bassist Mark Hoppus, vocalist/guitarist Tom DeLonge and drummer Scott Raynor–during their formation and early struggles, ending with the introduction of Travis Barker. Flores and friends have been interviewing fans who attended early Blink shows for much of the past year. When Hoppus learned about the film earlier this week, he said that it was the first he had heard of it. "I didn’t know anything about the movie. I wonder how it pays," he said. "Should I try out for the part of Tom?"
