Rise Against to play Lollapalooza

When Rise Against recently announced their summer tour dates with Rancid, their hometown fans in Chicago were more than a little bummed to see that the tour wouldn’t be stopping through the Windy City. Today Rise Against announced that they would play Chicago this summer after all–at Lollapalooza, which takes place August 7 to 9.



The band released this statement:

"That’s right, Chicago, we know you were bummed when we announced our summer tour minus a Chicago date a few weeks ago, so here’s the reason; we’re playing Lollapalooza! We’ve been sworn to secrecy until now, but the time has come to spread the word! We’ll be playing lovely Grant Park this summer with hordes of other bands, stay tuned for the exact days and tickets are available now. We hope to see you out on the edge of Lake Michigan with us this summer. Punk has only been a blip on the radar of the last couple Lolla lineups, so we’re looking forward to bringing some hometown pride to one of the country’s biggest summer festivals."
