Ariana Grande accused of exploiting LGBT community with music video

Ariana Grande recently released her album thank u, next and a video for one of the tracks is causing major controversy.

Along with the album drop, Grande released a video for “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored.” The video is basically about Grande wanting to get with a guy who is taken at a party.

The end of the video shows the singer about to kiss the said girlfriend in the video, who looks a lot like her. She flirts with the woman several times in the video.

People have been calling out Grande, accusing her of “queerbaiting” and exploiting the LGBT community for her personal profit.

Grande has never self-identified as LGBT, but has been a huge supporter of LGBT people. She penned a note to the community for Billboard last Pride month. Grande acknowledged that the LGBT community is a huge supporter of her music. She also mentions her close relationship with her brother, Frankie Grande, who is openly gay.

However, many people on Twitter believe the video is more of a stunt for shock value than doing anything to support the LGBT community.
