Ariana Grande’s recent album cover for Thank U, Next had fans gawking over her seemingly goth aesthetic. However, Grande recently revealed in a tweet that her vampy look was to pay homage to her number one supporter — her mother.

According to the tweet, Grande’s mother, Joan Grande was the original wearer of the lip color.

Recently, despite popular belief, Grande’s song “NASA” is not about her ex Pete Davidson. Fans began speculating the song’s meaning after a photo of Grande and Davidson resurfaced. In the photo, Davidson was wearing a NASA hoodie.

However, co-writer Victoria Monét confirmed that the song wasn’t about Davidson’s fashion choices.
