Atreyu vocalist Alex Varkatzas responds to the rumors he’s left the band

Over the weekend, reports broke that Atreyu vocalist Alex Varkatzas has left the band.

Now, Varkatzas has seemingly responded to those rumors in a new Instagram post.

Last week, news broke that Varkatzas has reportedly left Atreyu. According to the reports, drummer and co-vocalist Brandon Saller will handle vocal duties going forward. However, no official statement had been made by the band.

Varkatzas recently announced the birth of his daughter, adding to speculation that he is leaving Atreyu to focus on his family.

However, Varkatzas has now responded to the rumors he’s left the band in a new Instagram post. On Monday, he posted the lyrics to Stone Temple Pilots‘ “Trippin’ On A Hole In A Paper Heart” along with the hashtag #fakenews.

He also quoted the lyrics “I’m not dead and I’m not for sale” in the caption. This post seemingly confirms that the rumors are false and that he is still in Atreyu.

As well, his latest Instagram post shows that he doesn’t plan to leave music anytime soon. In the new video, Varkatzas appears to be business as usual. He says that he has “so much creative energy” and is looking to start a new musical project.

At this time, Varkatzas and Atreyu have not released a statement confirming or denying he has left the band.

Earlier this year, Atreyu revealed that they are recording new music. blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus recently joined the band in the studio back in January. Atreyu’s last full-length album In Our Wake was released in 2018. Then, in 2019, the band released a deluxe edition of In Our Wake featuring new and acoustic tracks.
