‘Avengers: Endgame’ viewers reveal best bathroom break times

It’s safe to say that many people will be spending their weekend in the theaters seeing the highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame.

The film is long, like really long. It had a leaked runtime of three hours, making it the longest MCU film ever. By the way, that’s pretty impressive considering there is some fake footage in the trailers to throw off potential spoilers.

One of the best part of going to the movies is relaxing with some snacks, which means bathroom breaks are inevitable, especially in a long movie.

Thankfully, those who have already seen the latest Marvel film have let us know when the best time to take a break is.

According to many of the suggestions on the Internet, everyone says just stay in your seat pass the 2 hour mark and just tough it out.

Comicbook.com suggests the following spots to take a break. Minor spoilers ahead.

Hulk at Lunch

One sequence sees a few characters having lunch, including the Hulk. When you see Hulk enjoying a big meal, this is a good time to jet out to the bathroom, as some details discussed here will be largely assumed by the audience already, and you’ll just miss a few good jokes. About one hour into the movie.

Tony and Pepper

If you’re a big fan of Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, this isn’t a great time to jet out as it’s a character-builder for sure. However, it doesn’t propel the narrative in any intensely important ways, so when Tony Stark sits down to talk with Pepper Potts, make a break for it. It’s a little over an hour into the film.

Before the Last Hour

The last act of Avengers: Endgame is pure adrenaline and important sequences. When the New Jersey title card takes the screen, stay seated until the song accompanying it plays out to not miss a great moment, but then sprint out and back. You’ll catch the end of the sequence, which includes an emotional character-building beat, and be fully prepared for the intense final act.

CNET suggests the following place for a bathroom break.

When the San Francisco title card comes on screen

If you made the crucial mistake of not peeing before the film, you won’t miss much if you duck out now. This Ant-Man segment is about 30 minutes into the film and is mostly just Scott connecting dots the audience already knows.

When Hulk is having lunch

This scene is just over an hour into the film, and while it’s amusing, missing it isn’t a dealbreaker (in fact, you may escape some cringe-y silly moments). The next 10 to 15 minutes after this scene is the safest window to empty your bladder. (And if you have other bodily functions to take care of, this is definitely the moment to do so.)

When the New Jersey title card comes on screen

There are no good spots to pee in the last hour of this film, sorry but we don’t make the rules.

And TV Guide has some other ideas for breaks.

In the beginning:

If you feel the need to panic pee at the top of the film, go at the start of the second scene of the film. You have roughly 10 minutes here that deals with how everyone is doing after the Thanos (Josh Brolin) snap, as you probably gleamed from the trailer. You have about six minutes before you need to be back in your seat for an Important Event, so pee fast.

After Important Event No. 1:

To be as vague as possible, when the team starts talking about quantum physics, you can skip the math lesson and hit the bathroom. You will miss some solid jokes, but nothing crucial to the understanding of the rest of the film. This is the longest time frame you have — about 12 minutes — so aim for this to get what you need to do done.

In the second half:

OK, maybe you thought you could make it through the entire film, but realize an hour in that you are going to have to pee at some point. Good news! You have one last opportunity. When the Avengers leave for the “missions” that Cap (Chris Evans) teases in the trailer, wait for the Nebula (Karen Gillan) section to kick off. You have approximately four to five minutes to go to the bathroom without missing anything crucial. Take any longer than that brief window and it will be at your own peril, though.

Avengers: Endgame has already broke a huge box office record — it made $60 million its opening night. This makes it the top domestic preview of all time.

The film is breaking records around the globe as well. Its two-day gross globally currently is $365 million before the weekend officially even begins. Its projected to make an all-time domestic best, with its anticipated sum being between $270 and $300 million.

Avengers; Infinity War currently holds the record for the biggest global opening with $640.5 million globally and $257.6 million domestically.

Before its opening the film already broke major records, so let’s take a look back.

For one, it sold five times as many tickets as Infinity War during its first week of presales. This should come as no surprise with the demand of tickets being crazy enough for fans to spend upward of $15,000 for a pair.

Also, the film broke the record for Atom Tickets’ best-selling movie of all time in only 10 days.

Currently the Marvel movie is estimated to open between $230 million to $283 million domestically. Also, it previously had a worldwide projection of an astounding $800 million.  However, now, it’s being estimated that the film could very well hit $1 billion, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Before the widespread release, the film celebrated its world premiere Monday, and the first reactions were super positive.

Due to the expected large crowds at theaters throughout the weekend, some have had to open 24 hours a day from this Thursday to Sunday to meet high demands. Those demands partly have to do with the fact that the film is long. It had a leaked runtime of more than three hours, which is pretty impressive considering there is some fake footage in the trailers to throw off potential spoilers.

It was previously announced that Endgame would close out Phase 3 of the MCU. However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed he now has other plans.

Avengers: Endgame is monumental for so many ways. For one, it features the final cameo by Marvel legend Stan Lee, who passed away last year at age 95. Then, it was revealed that Marvel actually compiled all of Lee’s cameos and behind-the-scenes footage into a video, that they might release with the Endgame DVD.

In other news, Twitter users were recently granted tons of emojis of nearly all the characters in the film.

While you’re online playing with all the new MCU emojis, be careful to avoid possible spoilers as footage from the film is reportedly leaked and available online. Well, at least before you head to the theater and just finally see the film.

Avengers: Endgame is in theaters now. Check out one of the trailers below.
