'Avengers: Endgame' tickets outsell 'Infinity War' in a big way

Avengers: Endgame is the hot ticket to buy when it comes to heading out to the movie theater this summer – literally.

According to Fandango, Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame has sold around five times as many tickets as Avengers: Infinity War, just in its first week of sales alone. That just goes to show you how much people want to see this movie, which shouldn’t come as any surprise, thanks to the current levels of hype fans are experiencing.

Fandango reported on Wednesday that thousands of the movie’s impending showtimes had already sold out, and there are still new showtimes being posted as well as additional theaters being opened to meet the demand. It’s consistently remained the top daily ticket seller on the website, and it’s not out for about half of a month still.

“I wouldn’t be surprised to see a record amount of fans reporting sick to work or taking the day off on Friday, April 26 because they’ll be attending opening day screenings of Avengers: Endgame,” said Fandango managing editor Erik Davis.

Avengers: Endgame fans aren’t playing around, and they want to see this movie, like, yesterday. According to Atom Tickets, the movie even sold around twice as many tickets in its first week as the next four record holders altogether: that includes big names like Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Captain Marvel.

While you can still pick up tickets in some locations, if you missed out on the first wave, you may be out of luck when it comes to seeing the movie on opening day. Luckily, there will be plenty of other showings to come, because you won’t want to sleep on what could be the biggest event in Marvel movie history.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.
