Marvel alters ‘Avengers: Endgame’ poster after backlash

Marvel has recently come under fire for excluding Danai Gurira from the Avengers: Endgame poster’s top billing. Even though Gurira’s character was on the original poster, her name was not present with the rest of the cast’s.

However, Marvel has since altered the poster, this time including the General Okoye actress’ name at the top.

“She should have been up there all this time,” Marvel Studios say in a tweet. “Check out the official Marvel Studios’ #AvengersEndgame poster.”

Originally, many fans were angered by Gurira’s exclusion. Many fans also made it a point to highlight that she was the only black woman on the poster, and excluding her name from the ribbon was a bad look to say the least.

Additionally, Gurira has appeared in other major blockbusters such as Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.

The original poster was revealed at the same time as the movie’s second trailer. The trailer for the forthcoming film sent fans into a emotional frenzy. Check it out below.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters April 26.
