In the comments, people were not happy she was using religious images to promote the song. They were especially mad because her song “Head Above Water” was a hit on the Christian music charts.

“You need Jesus. What was up with the last single, head above water? God saved you and blessed you with another opportunity to choose. Now you have this crap?” one user wrote in the comments. “Man, what a shame. I’ve been a fan since you came out, this is a turnoff. Get your soul right with Jesus. Only one who can save you, yet you hold his cross and blaspheme his name? I pray for your salvation.”

“Are u Christian? Or you are mocking of Jesús?” another said.

“I’ll hv to unfollow you now… how can you fall in love with Devil when God created you with amazing talend which made so famous…. Thank God for the blessings not Devil…” someone else wrote.

However, other people praised her for bringing back “goth Avril” and taking a new direction with the song.

Well, now we can all watch the full video she’s been teasing us with for so long. You can check that out below.
