Avril Lavigne tweets out update on new album, thanks fans for being patient

Avril Lavigne has shared another update on her next album, promising that “it'll be here before you know it!!”

With her last album, Avril Lavigne, being released in 2013, the world has been waiting for Avril to make her return which she revealed in December would be in 2017. Lavgine took the break from music to focus on her battle with Lyme disease.
“I wanted to first thank my fans for your patience & support during my time away throughout my battle with Lyme Disease over the past 2 years,” she said in her December post. “It hasn't just been a hard battle but it's also been enlightening and will reflect in my new music, artistry, life, and personally. I will always continue to make it a priority to fight and raise awareness about Lyme Disease with the Avril Lavigne foundation.”
In March, the singer offered another update on the album in an interview with Billboard revealing that this new album would be different than her previous works, citing that she “wanted to write about topics [she] hadn't hit on before.”
“There's the love topic, but a lot of these songs are about life. I've experienced a lot over the past few years, and some of the songs just came to me. Concepts and lyrics were flowing and I would have to grab my phone to sing into voice memo and write out my lyrics.”
Now with September beginning today, Lavigne has given us another update on what's to be her sixth studio album. The singer writes in a post on Twitter, “I just want to thank everyone for their patience as I work on putting together this new album. It’s been a long recovery and I want to make sure that this is perfect for you guys!!”

She's posted several pictures on her Instagram showing her hard at work in the studio, which only builds our anticipation!
Lavigne will be releasing this sixth album through BMG.
