Awsten Knight rap featured on EP topping Gucci Mane for No. 1 on iTunes

Waterparks vocalist Awsten Knight dropped a collab with rapper and producer Lil Phag, but they received an unexpected surprise.

The release took the No. 1 spot on iTunes’ hip-hop album chart the same day veteran rapper Gucci Mane dropped his new album.

The singer tweeted out his excitement about the collab taking the top spot over one of the most in-demand rappers. His appearance comes under his rap monicker Felony Steve which he used in 2017 for a strange new hip-hop mixtape.

“YALL I RAPPED ON AN ALBUM WITH MY FRIENDS THAT COST $0 TO MAKE AND WE GOT #1 OVER GODDAMN GUCCI MANE ON HIS OWN RELEASE DAY I AM FUCKING LAUGHING SO HARD HELP” the caption reads.

The EP is also currently sitting at No. 7 on the overall Top Albums chart. It still sits at No. 1 over Gucci Mane on Hip-Hop/Rap at the time of publication.

As a result, Lil Phag is having some fun with the situation. The rapper tweeted at Victoria Justice trying to get her support due to Knight’s reference to her in his verse.

“hey @VictoriaJustice i know my friend @awsten constantly annoys you as a joke but he wrote a verse about u on the currently #1 rap album in America and the UK if u wanna take a listen (it’s track 1, last verse)” the caption reads.

All proceeds from the EP are being donated to the LA LGBT Center. You can pick up the EP here.
