Axl Rose may have debuted a new song on 'Looney Tunes'

In what seems one of the more bizarre Christmas TV moments of 2018, it looks like Axl Rose voiced his own likeness in a recent episode of New Looney Tunes that featured what could be the musician’s first new music in ten years.

That’s right, per The Independent, the Christmas Day episode sported a cartoon cameo from the Guns N’ Roses rocker. And while nothing’s been confirmed, it certainly sounds like Rose voicing his animated visage. Not to mention the cartoon Axl breaking out a new song called “Rock The Rock” for Bugs and the gang. As noted by Loudwire, Guns N’ Roses often opened shows on their Not In This Lifetime tour with the original Looney Tunes theme music, so perhaps Axl Rose is paying tribute to the classic animated TV series with a secretive song premiere.

On the recent New Looney Tunes episode, Axl asks Bugs Bunny and friends for help getting to the Civic Centre for a show with his band, “Steel Underpants.” On being told a giant asteroid is heading toward Earth, Rose says his new speakers can “shake mountains to the ground,” and he jokes about going back “to wearing a mesh jersey and kilt again.”

Guns N’ Roses’ latest album was 2008’s Chinese Democracy, itself a mammoth exercise in prolonged album creation. (They started recording it in the ’90s.) Rose reunited Guns with cornerstone members Slash and Duff McKagan in 2016.

What do you think of Axl Rose and the new song “Rock The Rock”? Did you ever guess you’d spot the famous rock singer on an episode of Looney Tunes? Sound off with your thoughts on Axl’s Looney Tunes appearance in the comments.
