Bad Suns share sunny new single “Heaven Is A Place In My Head”—listen
Bad Suns are getting ready for summer with their latest dreamy single “Heaven Is A Place In My Head.”
Though summer doesn’t officially start until later this month, Bad Suns are bringing the summer vibes back early this year. While the song is reminiscent of a warm, sunny day, it is also lyrically about the season.

“Heaven Is A Place In My Head” explores how summer can feel endless when you are with the right person. Vocalist and guitarist Christo Bowman sings about daydreaming and never wanting the sun to set.
Lead guitarist Ray Libby, bassist Gavin Bennett, drummer Miles Morris and Bowman were able to perfectly capture summer in the song. With hints of tropical percussion and smooth 80s synths, the track feels like sipping on lemonade by the beach.

Out via Epitaph Records, the single marks Bad Suns’ first new music of 2021. Last year saw the band share three stunning singles, “Baby Blue Shades,” “Unstable” and “I’m Not Having Any Fun.” Their last full-length was 2019’s Mystic Truth.
Ahead of the release of “Heaven Is A Place In My Head,” the band teased the track on social media. One teaser included muffled audio of the song paired with a dream-like video that holds many similarities to the song’s cover art.

After the song’s release today, they also posted on Instagram, saying it will “hit different live.”

“This song is special to us because it came so close to never existing,” vocalist Christo Bowman exclusively told Alternative Press. “In May of last year we were all in the process of experimenting with writing songs together over the internet. We jumped on a video call and I played the guys this piece of music I’d written the day before. I was really missing performing and wanted us to create something which channeled the energy of one of our live shows. We wrote the melodies and lyrics, and it then sat in our dropbox for several months, essentially forgotten. Then in January of 2021, as we were nearing the end of our recording process, our producer played the demo and we all looked at each other and collectively thought, ‘This is amazing, why haven’t we recorded this?'”
