Bam Margera reportedly returns to rehab after trespassing arrest

Last week, Bam Margera reached out to Dr. Phil for help as his life is “in shambles.” After meeting with the talk show host, he checked into rehab. Within a week, he left the facility and ended up with a Dr. Phil-inspired tattoo and a trespassing charge.

Now, after posting his $1000 bail yesterday, Margera is heading back to rehab, according to TMZ.

The Jackass star has struggled with alcohol usage for years, entering rehab for the first time in 2009 and again in 2015. He didn’t complete either program and revealed in Jan. 2018 that he was checking into a facility for the third time after getting arrested for a DUI.

Margera remained sober for several months after the third stay but relapsed after he was robbed at gunpoint. He entered rehab for a fourth time in Jan. 2019 but left after 10 days, explaining his reasoning in an 8-page handwritten letter shared to his Instagram account.

After requesting Dr. Phil’s help last week, Margera entered rehab for the fourth time. However, he reportedly checked himself out this week and was later arrested for trespassing around 2:30 a.m. PT Wednesday.

Margera reportedly refused to leave the Luxe Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. Witnesses state he got into an argument with patrons at the Los Angeles establishment before sitting down in the middle of the lobby when asked to leave.

Now, TMZ states after being released from police custody, he immediately headed back to rehab. Margera reportedly had to agree to “serious guidelines” regarding his stay at the facility which TMZ reports he accepted.

Dr. Phil reportedly gave TMZ a statement following his arrest prior to his rehab return, stating, “I hope he can resume treatment. My attitude is never surrender to the disease. It is a tug of war and you just can’t ever drop your end of the rope.”

More on Bam Margera

Last week, in a since deleted Instagram post (which you can see in part courtesy of Entertainment Tonight below) Margera pleaded for Dr. Phil to help him.

“Dr. Phil, I need your help in a big, big way,” he begins. “My family is in shambles and worse than its ever been ever.” He goes on to explain how “stubborn” his wife Nikki is and fears if they separate she’ll use their 18-month old son Phoenix Wolf against him. He also discusses issues with his mother April and childhood friend and Jackass co-star Brandon Novak.

Margera continues in his post, revealing he’s visited 28 doctors and four rehab facilities, but the last one did anything but help him. “When I went to my last rehab, they put me on more medication than I was on when I was out,” he states. “The only person that I will believe on the planet is Dr. Phil.”

His mother April opened up to TMZ about the Dr. Phil intervention. The outlet reports Bam taped his show Monday, Aug. 5 and promptly headed to rehab afterwards. He was reportedly set to stay in rehab for 60 to 90 days. However, on Monday afternoon, a week after his reported check-in, Bam took to Instagram to share some new ink inspired by Dr. Phil that he got at the Kat Von D-owned shop High Voltage Tattoo.

“I gotta pay my respects to Dr. Phil,” Margera says showing off McGraw’s name next to a heartagram on his neck. “I mean, I cried out on the interweb at 7 a.m., and that very morning, his team was there in San Antonio—no, Austin, Texas there to get me to go to LA to get me some help.”
