Bat with rabies attacks man playing guitar in the woods

Derrick Skou was camping with his friends last weekend in Oregon, when they decided to have a little jam-out session. Skou was just playing his guitar in the woods (in broad daylight) when a bat swooped down out of nowhere and landed on him. The little devil then crawled up his neck and bit him. You thought bats were nocturnal. You thought you were safe.

“This thing came out of nowhere,” Skou told KOMO News. “I was thinking it was a good day until then. Something hit me. I was concentrating on staying in time and all that, and it hit me here, and I kind of saw something out of my peripheral vision. And then it's there, and then it just bit me.”

“I wasn't injected with anything,” he added. “It was just a cold bite.” That’s comforting. Check out the video below, and let us know your thoughts.

Oregon Live reports that one of Skou's friends shot and killed the bat with a BB gun and took it in for testing. They found that the bat had rabies. Poor little guy!
