Yes, the rumors are true, both Affleck and Keaton are making their return as Batman. According to reports, both actors will appear in the DC Universe movie The Flash. Starring Ezra Miller, The Flash will visit various timelines within Batman’s story.

Director Andy Muschietti shares that Affleck’s role as the iconic DC hero is an integral part of The Flash.

“He’s a very substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie,” he says. “The interaction and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before. It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that’s one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That’s where the Affleck Batman kicks in.”

Alongside Affleck, Keaton also has a “substantial” role as Batman in The Flash. Keaton hung up the Batsuit in 1992 after Tim Burton‘s Batman Returns. According to the report, The Flash will visit various parallel universes and timelines throughout Batman’s story. This aspect makes it possible for both Affleck and Keaton to appear in the new film.

The Flash is scheduled for release on June 3, 2022. Miller, who played Flash in Justice Leagueplays the title role.
