Kington has been with the Ottawa pop-punk act since their inception, and the four-piece dropped their Pure Noise debut Blue In The Dark in October.

The drummer reveals “personal reasons” are why he has decided to part ways, and you can read his statement posted to the band’s account below.

“After a few months of consideration, I have made the decision to leave Bearings due to some personal reasons. It’s not a decision that I take lightly, although I feel it is the best decision for me at this point in my life.

“I feel incredibly proud of everything the band has accomplished and extremely grateful for all the opportunities we had been given. Being able to release a full length album through Pure Noise Records and tour all over Canada and the United States has been an incredible journey.

“I’m very thankful to have been with Bearings since the beginning of the band, but am excited for a new chapter of my life. I wish Ryan, Collin and Doug the best in the future of Bearings and look forward to watching them grow as a band. They have no plans of slowing down so please give them your full support. One final thank you to Joe Buscema, everyone at Pure Noise Records and anyone who has ever supported Bearings. It’s been a hell of a ride. – Connor”
