'Beetlejuice 2' might finally be happening at last

Brad Pitt‘s production company Plan B has reportedly signed on for a Beetlejuice sequel from Warner Bros., according to Jeff Sneider of The Ankler. The movie is still in early development, without even a written script yet.

The Ankler also reported that Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder would reprise their roles as Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz, respectively.  It’s unclear if Tim Burton will return to the director’s chair, but the goal is to get cameras rolling as soon as this summer.

Rumors of a sequel to the iconic 1988 movie have gone around for years. Burton, Keaton and Ryder have all expressed varying degrees of interest in the project. In fact, it seemed as though Burton finally got the go-ahead from Warner Bros. in 2015, but a year later, he said the film was no longer in active development.

It’s still unclear whether or not a Beetlejuice sequel will actually happen, but Pitt’s Plan B getting involved seems like a good sign. Maybe we should all say “Beetlejuice” three times?
