Before You Exit release statement on Christina Grimmie's tragic death
Before You Exit, the band Christina Grimmie opened for in Orlando on Friday night, have released a statement regarding her tragic death.
“Words fail to describe how much Christina means to all of us,” the band wrote. “She was always a constant beam of light and energy into the hearts of everyone around her.” You can read all of what they had to say below.
Grimmie and Before You Exit were meeting fans at their merch tables after the show at Plaza Live Theater when a man walked up to her and shot her. Grimmie’s brother tackled the gunman immediately to stop him from hurting others, and the suspect fatally shot himself during the struggle. The incident took place around 10:45 p.m.
The singer was in critical condition following the shooting, and was announced dead by the Orlando police at 2:51 a.m.
