Bikini Kill join forces with Joan Jett for "Rebel Girl" performance

Bikini Kill have been performing their first shows in 22 years, and Joan Jett recently was featured as a special guest on a stop in true riot grrrl fashion.

Jett and the band have had a good repertoire throughout the years, so it was a special moment when she joined them on stage at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre.

Last month, Bikini Kill rocked their first show ever in more than two decades.

The reunion show was one of three, after the band added two more dates following ticket scalper issues.

The first show took place at the Hollywood Palladium and they kicked things off with “Carnival” and ended after two encores of “For Tammy Rae.” The band performed for 5,000 fans.

You can check out some clips of the performance below.

As previously stated, Bikini Kill had some issues with ticket scalpers. Fans complained of tickets being sold out in less than one second. The tickets were also being resold on resale sites for quadruple their face value.

Bikini kill made a statement, apologizing for the negative experience, before adding the dates:

“Hi everyone, we wanted to apologize to anyone who had a bad experience trying to get tickets to our upcoming shows. We weren’t aware of the pre-sale for people with a certain credit card in NY until it was too late and that will not happen in the future. Also as soon as we realized there were problems we tried to put as many obstacles in front of scalpers as we could and are trying to figure out a better solution going forward. Thanks for all the interest and support of these shows – it is beyond anything we expected and we are excited to play for you!”

Then they added the extra dates. You can check out the full list of shows below.

Dates:

06/05 — Brooklyn, NY @ Kings Theatre

Additionally, in light of the Bikini Kill reunion, Hole’s Courtney Love rehashed some age-old beef. On an Instagram post, Love called Bikini Kill frontwoman Kathleen Hanna and the rest of the band “total amateurs.”
