The feminist punk powerhouse group were huge in the underground scene. The original lineup was Hanna, Wilcox and Vail. Billy Karren later joined the group.

Bikini Kill were active from 1990 to 1998, releasing a demo tape, two EPs and two LPs as well as touring worldwide.

The band made the announcement via Twitter that they’d be having reunion shows.

The band are credited as the founders of the riot grrrl feminist movement, with their political lyrics, zines and social justice-charged shows. They encouraged women and girls to use music as cultural resistance against rape culture and gender inequality.

Bikini Kill recently made all of their catalog available on streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify. So now you can get pumped for the show or pretend you’re there by listening to some of their most iconic tracks such as “Rebel Girl.”
