Following the release of “Playground,” riot grrrl pioneers Bikini Kill are sharing another previously unreleased track from their debut 1991 demo which will see a re-release on September 22, available on vinyl, CD and digitally for the first time ever via Bikini Kill Records.
Speaking to The New York Times about rediscovering the band's old songs, singer-songwriter Kathleen Hanna says, “I thought I was going to hate it. I thought I was going to be like, ‘Oh, God, this is so embarrassing.' I was just laughing the whole way through. It just sounds like people who are experimenting and goofing around. Listening to a much younger me, I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I can’t believe I just did that.’”
You can stream “Ocean Song” below and pre-order the new reissue of Revolution Girl Style Now—Bikini Kill's very first demo—through Bikini Kill Records.
