See which rock artists made history with their wins at the 2020 BBMAs

The 2020 Billboard Music Awards took place on Oct. 14 and a lot of history was made.

From Post Malone winning a staggering nine awards to Billie Eilish earning a few more trophies for WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP WHERE DO WE GO?, a lot of firsts took place at the awards show. As well, two particular artists managed to make history with their wins in the Rock categories.

Post Malone led the BBMAs this year with a historic 16 nominations. In the end, he walked away with nine trophies including one for Artist Of The Year. Khalid was the night’s second-biggest winner with five awards and Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus won four awards each for their collab “Old Town Road (Remix).”

Meanwhile, Eilish is continuing to add to her trophy case with her debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? She won the Top Billboard 200 Award, making her just the fourth artist in the past 10 years to win both this Billboard Music Awards category and Album of the Year at the Grammys. Eilish also took home Top Female Artist, beating out Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift who has won the award three separate times.

Panic! At The Disco managed to make history with their Billboard Music Awards nominations in the Rock categories. After winning Top Rock Song last year with “High Hopes,” they took home the award for a second time with “Hey Look Ma, I Made It.” This feat makes Panic! At The Disco the first act to win Top Rock Song twice since the BBMAs relaunched.

For Top Rock Song, P!ATD beat out Imagine Dragons and twenty one pilots who were nominated for both “The Hype” and “Chlorine.” Machine Gun Kelly, YUNGBLUD and Travis Barker‘s collab “I Think I’m OKAY” was also nominated at the Billboard Music Awards this year.

Tool took home Top Rock Album for Fear Inoculum, the second hard-rock album to win this category since the show’s relaunch. Previously, Metallica‘s Hardwired…to Self-Destruct won the award in 2017.
