Eilish spoke with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about what she’s been up to in quarantine as well as her thoughts on the new show.

“This is the first time in a long time that I’ve actually gotten to not be heard by the entire world and just be quiet and be in my own space…this has really made me feel good about myself and made me happy,” she says.

Speaking on the new radio show, Eilish says her father’s influence on her musically has been present since her childhood.

“I’ve just talked so much about my dad’s influence on me with music and the music that he played us growing up and not just that, but then when I got older, my dad and I have had this relationship over the years of music sharing with each other. So it’s kind of like a thing everybody knows, like my dad and I share music together, and my dad has shown me some of my favorite songs in the world, and I’ve shown him songs that he loves and adores,” she says.

Patrick also shares how their music discovery happens mutually and that he’s checking out a lot of new music because of her.

Well, what I do is I find music in various ways, and I shoot the ones I think Billie would be interested to her on text. Just kind of stuff that I would probably not have found on my own. So now that I am kind of re-turned onto music and listened to a lot of new stuff, she finds new stuff all the time, and then I sent her this new stuff that I think is interesting.

Patrick adds on, saying “that’s what the genesis of this whole show was, was the give and take.” Billie follows up by saying “I don’t remember exactly what the quote was, but I just thought it was so true, which was that, the music that you listened to in your formative years, in the parts of your life where you grow the most, and you mature the most like that music changes your life. It makes you who you are, no matter down the line when you’re all grown up and whatever.”

You can check out the interview below.
