Billie Eilish ends up oozing a strange sludge in the bracing new music video for “when the party’s over,” the latest track from the emerging singer with the hauntingly ethereal voice that duly echoes the eerie accompanying visual.

The video’s creepy concept was devised by the 16-year-old singer/songwriter based on some captivating fan art. The clip shows Eilish “becoming bolder and more avant-garde than ever with her visuals, further contributing towards the growing fascination and adulation the young artist continues to garner around the world,” per a press release.

“A bit ago, I was given this beautiful piece of art from a fan that was a drawing of me with black eyes leaking,” explains Eilish. “I thought it was visually really dope and I wanted to physically create it. I called everyone on my team and told them exactly what I had in mind. Everyone that worked on it was amazing and it turned out unreal!”

The lilting piano rumination was dropped just eight days ago, as noted by Billboard, and is expected to appear on the singer’s upcoming (and currently untitled) debut album. See Eilish’s upcoming tour dates down after the music video.
