Billie Eilish makes directorial debut with eerily minimalist "xanny" video

Billie Eilish continues to do things her way, and she’s having incredible success doing it. The 17-year old phenom just made her directorial debut for her hit “xanny” off of WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?

Billie is fresh off the heels of history. She was nominated for six Grammy Awards and is the youngest artist to be nominated for the four major categories.

After dominating the top Spotify and Apple Music lists this year Eilish has made plenty of headlines in 2019. Her world tour sold out within an hour and she was nominated for six Grammy Awards. But, she had yet to direct one of her own music videos. That changed today with the addition of “xanny”. Check it out below.

As per usual, the video has a few jarring visuals and some disturbing movements but is overall pretty straight forward. It’s not over the top and it’s all shot on the same couch.

“I’m very excited to share my directorial debut.” Eilish says. “Visuals are so important to me, and I’m very proud to be in a place where I can present my creative vision exactly as I want it. Thank you to everyone who has put their trust in me.”

Eilish is sure to break even more ground in 2020. She quickly dominated the music industry and became a household name in 2019.

More Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish gave a hauntingly simplistic performance of her song “all the good girls go to hell” during the 2019 American Music Awards.

Her brother/fellow collaborator FINNEAS joined her on stage while she wore one of her signature baggy outfits and some space buns.

As is seen in the video for the track, Eilish brought some flames on-to stage while she jammed out to the track from her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

You can see the full performance below.

Eilish is nominated for six awards, tied for second in nominations with Ariana Grande. Post Malone leads with the most AMAs nominations at seven. Lil Nas X is up for five awards with “Old Town Road” falling into “Collab of the Year” and continuing to break genre barriers with a “Favorite Song – Pop/Rock” and “Favorite Song – Rap/Hip-Hop” nods.

Panic! At The Disco and Halsey follow with three nominations each. Panic! faces off with Eilish and Imagine Dragons for “Favorite Artist – Alternative Rock” as well as BTS and the Jonas Brothers for “Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock.”
