The Green Day frontman performed at a private party promoted by Live Nation during the festival alongside son Joey Armstrong and guitarist Jason White on Wednesday, June 20.

The trio performed on a stage built over the pool at the Villa Alang Alang, playing Green Day hits and covers by the Ramones and David Bowie. According to a story from Page Six, Armstrong threw his guitar in the water after the closing the set with “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)”.

“Oh man, that’s a rental,” a crew member reportedly exclaimed. “It costs £5,000.” (According to Page Six, that’s the equivalent of $6,623).

Armstrong also shared some stories during the set, reminiscing about meeting his wife in Minneapolis while touring at 18 and telling Chris Cornell about the time he was kicked out of a Soundgarden concert for stage diving.

“He’s like, ‘You shouldn’t have done that, young man.’ He was joking,” Armstrong recalled.

The musician also shared his views on Donald Trump before playing Green Day hit “American Idiot.”

“It’s so important that we look out for each other and we show compassion for humanity and our neighbor. I don’t know who it is in France, but in California it’s called Mexico,” Armstrong said.

“I f*king hate Donald Trump,” the singer whispered into the microphone, reports Page Six. “It’s like acid gone wrong. LSD and the alt right, what the hell?”
