Billy Corgan teases Smashing Pumpkins reunion

Time is never time at all, and you can never ever leave (without leaving a piece of youth), but Billy Corgan teased a possible Smashing Pumpkins reunion on Tuesday with a pic of some of the band's original members on Instagram. Take a look at the photo of three of the group's founders below.

As seen in Corgan's Insta post, the infamous “rat in a cage” was apparently hanging out in a Los Angeles recording studio with O.G. Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and original guitarist James Iha. “Not sure what cross-eyed spy took this photo,” Corgan captioned the snap, “but we had a visitor to the studio the other day. So many memories when you put the three of us together.” So, yeah, where's D'arcy, bros?

Corgan left it unclear if this means a reunion of the Pumpkins' original members will be happening, as has been rumored for years now. Chamberlin told WGN Radio last year (via NME) that he was eyeing a full-on reunion in 2018, so maybe this will be the year of the Pumpkin. (After all, Corgan, Chamberlin and Iha reunited onstage for the first time in 16 years last March at L.A.'s Ace Hotel during a special acoustic gig.)

Again, here's hoping original bassist D'arcy Wretzky is in on the action when this inevitable, classic-era Pumpkins reunion happens. Call D'arcy, guys!
