'Bird Box' director hints at Felix and Lucy's whereabouts, but we're still lost

It feels like everyone is talking about Bird Box, bringing along with it A LOT of unanswered questions. Why can’t we see the creatures? Is the movie really about mental health? Where the hell did Felix and Lucy go?!

While we may never get definite answers to most of these plaguing questions, Bird Box director Susanne Bier did provide a small hint as to the whereabouts of Felix and Lucy… kind of.

Netflix’s Bird Box has flipped our world upside down, sprouting forth challenges involving blindfolds and questions without answers.

One of the biggest questions that Bird Box fans can’t stop asking is, what the hell happened to Felix and Lucy?!

***WARNING: BIRD BOX SPOILERS BELOW!***

Felix (Machine Gun Kelly) and Lucy (Rosa Salazar) end up stealing the car from the home of Malorie and other survivors about halfway through the film. It’s a pretty big blow considering that vehicle was the only way the survivors were able to get to the grocery store safely, thanks to the car’s GPS technology.

Viewers can only assume the two ran off together thinking they had a better chance of survival on their own. Where exactly they took off to however, no one seems to know.

Bier, director of the film, sat down with People to shed a little bit of light on the situation, hinting at the couple’s whereabouts in the film…er, kind of.

“I think [the grocery store] was their plan, but we don’t know!” she tells People. “I think that that’s where they wanna go, but I actually think it’s quite exciting that we don’t know exactly where they went.”

Well that clears up a whole lot of NOTHING.

Did Lucy and Felix even survive? Did they really go to the grocery store? We can only hope that if there ends up being a Bird Box sequel we’ll get a much more definitive answer.

Where do you think the couple took off to? Sound off your theories in the comments below!
