Leaked ‘Birds Of Prey’ pics suggest Harley Quinn, Joker are really over

Earlier this week, we got our first look at a new and improved Harley Quinn from the set of the upcoming Birds Of Prey followed by a short-and-sweet teaser clip.

Now, more photos have leaked from the set, suggesting that Quinn and the Joker’s relationship is really over.

Margot Robbie made her Harley Quinn debut in 2016’s Suicide Squad opposite Jared Leto’s interpretation of the Joker. We’re a little more than a year out from the upcoming Suicide Squad spin-off, but now even more clues have been leaked from set.

This week’s photo isn’t the first time Robbie dropped information regarding the upcoming film. In November, the actress shared her copy of the script, editing it to read, Birds Of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn).

While not much about the movie is clear, it seems the “emancipation” might be referring to Quinn’s relationship with the Joker despite him rescuing her from prison at Suicide Squad’s conclusion.

The film’s synopsis reads, “After splitting up with The Joker, Harley Quinn and three other female superheroes—Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya—come together to save the life of a little girl (Cassandra Cain) from an evil crime lord.”

Now, thanks to new leaked photos, it appears the duo might really be over as her Puddin’ choker isn’t the only thing she’s ditching.

A Twitter user shared images of Robbie walking down the street with a piece of foil in her hand. While its unclear what she’s doing with it, it is clear that there’s been an alteration to one of her tattoos.

A second Twitter user replied with a zoomed in capture of the photos, pointing out that her “Harley + Puddin’ tattoo” on her right leg has “Puddin’” crossed out, which is a nickname for the Joker.

While this one mention of the Joker is crossed out, her left leg still features other Puddin’-related ink, so there could be more to the story.

Ahead of her Suicide Squad debut in 2016, Robbie chatted all things tattoos, where she explained the origin of Quinn’s ink, including the still existing Puddin’ piece.

“She did these herself in prison,” she says about the various Joker-themed tattoos. “They’re stick and poke tattoos, prison-style tattoos, that you do when you don’t have a tattoo gun. She did them herself out of boredom and desperation.”

“There’s ‘I Heart Puddin,’ a Joker face, a love heart…that’s obviously reflective of her time in prison.”

What we know about Birds Of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn) so far

Back in April, we learned Cathy Yan signed on to direct. Robbie’s own LuckyChap will be producing the flick, with Sue Kroll of Kroll & Co Entertainment and Bryan Unkeless of Clubhouse Pictures.

Shortly after the director reveal, Suicide Squad’s sequel was delayed in order to focus on Birds Of Prey with the release date being revealed just this week.

Earlier this week, Margot Robbie dropped the film’s first teaser showing us Quinn in all her glory. The actress took to Instagram yet again to share a selfie with the caption, “Miss me? HQ.”

She’s sporting an outfit that’s a far cry from her famous “Daddy’s Lil Monster” tee and Puddin’ choker. Robbie rocks a colorful jacket, hot pink suspenders and a dog collar that reads “Bruce,” which one can only assume is referring to Batman himself.
