In January 2020, Brooker and Jones left their production company to start Broke and Bones, but the Black Mirror rights stayed with parent company Endemol Shine Group. The Banijay Group acquired the rights in the summer of 2020, leaving the sci-fi series in limbo.

Brooker and Jones were unable to produce additional seasons of the show until now. However, Banijay Rights have licensed the series to Netflix, which gives Brooker and Jones another chance to bring Black Mirror to an eagerly waiting audience.

Broke and Bones has previously produced Death to 2020, Death to 2021, Attack of the Hollywood Cliches! and more.
