On Wednesday, Black Veil Brides guitarist Jinxx (Jeremy Ferguson) confirmed that he has tested positive for coronavirus.

In a lengthy statement, he discusses his symptoms and the test results for his wife Alice Mogg and son Lennon.

Jinxx reveals that he began feeling unwell over the weekend and decided to take his family to get coronavirus tested as soon as the symptoms began.

“Last Saturday, I woke up feeling extremely rundown, feverish and had a nasty cold,” he says. “I didn’t hesitate to take my family down to get tested right away. We got our results back Sunday night.”

His family tested negative, but his results came back with a positive detection of coronavirus. Both his wife Alice and son Lennon have tested negative, but Alice is waiting to hear back about a second test result. Jinxx is currently quarantining separately from his family.

On Monday, Jinxx’s fever lifted, but he has lost his sense of taste and smell. This is a common symptom of those that contract coronavirus.

“Monday night, the fever lifted, but I had lost my sense of taste and smell. The cough had moved into my lungs and last night noticed tightness in my chest, did some breathing exercises and it eased up. Today, I’m just really tired and dizzy. Hoping the worst of it has passed.”

Jinxx also takes the opportunity to remind everyone about the seriousness of coronavirus. As well, everyone needs to continue staying safe by wearing a mask, limiting travel and thinking twice about holiday gatherings.

“I just wanted to say to everyone to continue to stay safe and PLEASE wear a mask! No matter how annoying it is,” he says. “And take this seriously. This is no hoax and cases are spiking everywhere, and no one is immune. And just because you got a negative result doesn’t make you immune or mean you may not have just contracted it. So be cautious and maybe think twice about travel and gathering plans over the holidays.”

Just last month, Jinxx and Alice welcome their first child together – Lennon River. The couple confirmed the arrival of their baby boy in a heartwarming Instagram post.
