On Friday, the BVB Army got another taste of Black Veil Brides‘ forthcoming release Re-Stitch These Wounds. In celebration of their debut album We Stitch These Wounds‘ 10-year anniversary, the band are reimagining the entire record with brand new versions of their classic songs.

Although coronavirus has canceled Black Veil Brides‘ tour plans this year, the band have been using their time in lockdown to get creative. BVB recently shared a Bruce Springsteen cover in support of Black Lives Matter. As well, the band are currently working on their next record.

In the meantime, while fans wait to hear material from their next album, Black Veil Brides are sharing even more songs from the re-recorded We Stitch These Wounds.

On June 26, Black Veil Brides released the re-record‘s first song “Sweet Blasphemy.” Following the song’s release, Andy Biersack shared in an exclusive interview with Alt Press why the band decided to revisit their debut LP.

“We were so interested in how much better our recordings sounded through the course of our career,” Biersack says. “We’d blast these songs live, and they had such a different dynamic to them. And we would talk often about how great [it would be] to revisit that record. Not with a full record-sized budget. But just thinking, ‘Can we revisit it with what we know now?’”

For Black Veil Brides, this re-record isn’t meant to replace the original We Stitch These Wounds. Instead, it is meant to reflect the band’s current lineup and growth over the years. As well, the opportunity allowed Black Veil Brides to fix some mistakes and do things how they should’ve of when recording the debut album.

“We have never been happier as a band then in the current lineup,” Biersack says. “And it’s amazing to get the chance to start over and do with this record what we always wished we could have done the first time around. This isn’t meant to be a replacement for the original album but rather a companion piece that we hope fans can enjoy and see the musical evolution of the band in a unique way.”

Now, the band have released another new track from Re-Stitch These Wounds. This time, Black Veil Brides are reimagining “Perfect Weapon” nearly 10 years later. The original version of the song has over 16 million streams on Spotify. This feat makes “Perfect Weapon” one of Black Veil Brides’ most streamed songs ever.

For the re-recorded “Perfect Weapon,” Black Veil Brides incorporated various new musical and production elements. These changes allow the song to better fit with the band’s current sound and discography. Despite the changes, however, the revisited “Perfect Weapon” still holds the original version’s integrity while offering a new sound for fans to enjoy.
