'Black Widow' leaked photos tease new assassin in the MCU

While Marvel has yet to confirm that an official Black Widow movie is underway, fans are well aware that the film is currently in production. Previously leaked set photos show Scarlett Johansson reprising her role, while reports have surfaced revealing a Stranger Things star could be joining the cast.

Now, new set photos have leaked leading Marvel fans to believe a new assassin could be joining the MCU.

We’re still waiting on the announcement of Marvel’s Phase 4 films, but fans are already getting excited about the forthcoming Black Widow movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper on the Netflix show Stranger Things, is allegedly joining the cast alongside Academy Award-winning actress Rachel Weisz.

Now, new leaked photos have surfaced showing Johansson and Florence Pugh’s characters together on set.

However, while it looks like the two actresses are riding a motorcycle down the street, it’s actually two very lifelike dummies being used for the action sequence.

The biggest reveal comes on the dummies’ boxes, with one being labeled “Natasha” and the other one, “Yelena.”

***WARNING: Avengers: Endgame spoilers below!***

In the comics, Yelena is a fellow Russian spy who trained alongside Natasha in the Red Room. They start off as enemies but eventually become friends, with Yelena taking over the role of Black Widow after Natasha steps down.

Could Marvel be setting up for Yelena to step into the role of Black Widow after her death in Avengers: Endgame?

Another (blurry) photo surfaced giving fans a first look at the film’s possible logo. While there’s still plenty of time for Marvel to make changes, it’s still pretty cool to see.

While the film does not have an official release date, fans expect the movie to drop in 2020.
