The news follows a statement by Marvel icon Stan Lee that “One day there will be a Black Widow movie,” during the Supanova Comic Con in Brisbane, Australia, in November 2017.
The website reports the Black Widow standalone movie, which will star Scarlett Johansson, still in the early stages of development and has no greenlight yet.
However, having a writer increases the chances of the film happening.
The Black Widow has been portrayed by Johansson many times before in the Marvel cinematic universe. She played the character in The Avengers, Iron Man 2, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Captain America: Winter Soldier and upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, which will be released on May 4, 2018.
