Hear blackbear’s social media-inspired anthem “queen of broken hearts”

blackbear is giving fans another look into his highly-anticipated forthcoming album everything means nothing. On Friday, he released his brand new pop anthem “queen of broken hearts.”

The new single is inspired by the influence social media has over our everyday lives and relationships. It was written by blackbear and co-produced by blackbear and Andrew Goldstein.

blackbear’s new album everything means nothing isn’t out until Aug. 21. Nevertheless, the multi-talented artist is giving fans another taste of what they can expect from the forthcoming album.

“queen of broken hearts” isn’t just a pop anthem. It is also a relatable song for those who have dealt with the negative sides of social media.

“‘queen of broken hearts’ is a song that recognizes social media as an evil villain,” blackbear shares. “While looking introspectively at the bright light on my cell phone and the validation addiction, as well as bringing my other bad habits in relationships & character defects into the light. I am social media and I will break your heart.”

Along with the new single, everything means nothing includes 12 tracks. blackbear’s previously released “me & ur ghost” and “hot girl bummer” are also included on the new record.

hot girl bummer” is officially platinum-certified and peaked at No.2 at Top 40 radio and No.11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Since it’s release, the hit single has also surpassed over 1 billion global streams. The success of the single led to blackbear making his late-night television debut on The Late Late Show With James Corden.

everything means nothing follows up blackbear’s successful 2019 full-length LP ANONYMOUS. The album peaked at No.36 on the Billboard 200. blackbear has also collaborated with various artists over the years including Marshmello, YUNGBLUD and Linkin Park‘s Mike Shinoda.
