The four-member girl group dropped the video April 4 and got 56.7 million views in its first 24 hours, according to YouTube. Since then, it now has more than 140 million views.
The first-day numbers surpass previous record holder Ariana Grande for her “thank u, next” video.
Even though Blackpink now holds the number one spot, it’s not the only place they hold in the ranking. They’re 2018 video for “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” is also in the top 10 for most-viewed videos in the first 24 hours with 36.2 million views.
Also, the “Kill This Love” video is the biggest video to date that premiered using YouTube Premiere.
If that wasn’t enough, the video set the YouTube record for the fastest music video to hit 100 million views, which it did in under three days.

Blackpink have been a huge hit in the U.S., and call their fans “blinks” as it is a combination of “black” and “pink,” which is pretty amazing. Despite the name, there is no relation to blink-182 here.
Blackpink will have a historic Coachella performance this year. YouTube will stream their set in New York City’s Times Square, which will be the first-ever live broadcast of a festival in the location. It will appear on “The Beast” screen at 11:50 p.m. on Friday.
The group’s Coachella performance will be their first-ever show in the U.S. and there’s no doubt it’ll be exciting to see.
Coachella’s first weekend kicks off April 12-14, and the second weekend will be April 19-21. Both weekends will be in Indio, California.
Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande will be the headliners for Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively across both weekends.
