A blink-182 fan recently reimagined “The Rock Show” and “Feeling This” as 1980s synthwave songs. Additionally the YouTube user, MartyCanFly cleverly reworked blink’s name to fit the occasion as blink-one-80s-two.
According to MartyCanFly’s Facebook, he says that more 1980s-inspired blink-182 covers are coming soon.
However, after receiving a lot of praise for the covers, MartyCanFly’s announcement doesn’t come as a surprise. According to NME, fans are begging MartyCanFly to create an entire album under blink-one-80s-two.
Check out the songs’ reimaginings below.
In recent blink-182 news, Mark Hoppus says that the new album could be “completely weird.” In an interview with Kerrang!, Hoppus says that the forthcoming record may follow in their Untitled album’s footsteps.
“After playing in this band for 27 years, I want to push it and do different things and take blink to places where we haven’t been before,” Hoppus says. “We’re really trying to do that on the new record. We want to do with our band what we did in 2003 with Untitled, where we take our foundations and go off in completely weird directions.”
Additionally the duo dropped a new song called “Drugs.” Take a listen below.
“I had this idea that I would make a record with all of my friends, all these people that along the way you see at a show, you tour together,” Hoppus says. “So, I got in the studio with Alex, he was the first one that I called. And we wrote a song that I loved, and then he came back the next day an we wrote another song, and we wrote another song.”
“He was really great in the studio and has been a friend forever, and we always talked about making music together,” Hoppus continues. “I never called anybody else, and we ended up making this batch of songs that we loved.”
