blink-182 join the Chainsmokers to debut unreleased collab live

blink-182 performed a new song with the Chainsmokers when the duo invited them onstage at their stop in Los Angeles at The Forum for the World War Joy tour.

The set comes months after the Chainsmokers revealed on Twitter that both bands were working on a new song together.

The Chainsmokers aren’t strangers to the scene. In 2016, Halsey and the group gave a shoutout to blink in their own collaboration, “Closer.”

In the pop track’s second verse, Halsey mentions a track that was later revealed to be “I Miss You,” singing, “Play that blink-182 song/That we beat to death in Tucson.”

The duo are currently on tour with 5 Seconds Of Summer, who they also dropped a song with earlier this year.

In January, the Chainsmokers revealed that they were working on a new song with blink-182.

“Just did a session with blink-182 and wrote an amazing song. We can die happy now,” they tweeted.

Mark Hoppus later confirmed the post by quoting it stating, “It’s true.”

When asked why, Hoppus replied in a now deleted tweet “We’ve been friends with them for a few years and have tried to collaborate a bunch of different times, but today our schedules aligned and we were all in the same room at the same time.”

Ten months since the exchange, the two groups performed the new track live at the Chainsmokers tour stop in LA at The Forum.

blink tweeted a short video of the song with the caption “P.S I Hope You’re Happy,” which is the name of the new song.

The track itself hasn’t officially been released. Check out a video of the performance below.

More on blink-182

blink-182 just got a pretty big makeover and its nowhere near what you would expect from the trio. A fan created a shot-for-shot remake of the “First Date” music video with LEGOs.

The stop-motion video does an incredible job with every scene, capturing the likeness of nearly everything involved. Of course, we know that Mark Hoppus is supremely good at the internet so he probably knows this exists. And we imagine he couldn’t be more proud.

The creator even made the video side-by-side with the original so you can see how accurate it really is. Check it out below.
