It looks like we’ll be getting a blink-182 and the Chainsmokers collaboration in the near future after Mark Hoppus took to Twitter to confirm that both bands had written a song together.

Perhaps on a new blink album?

Photos recently surfaced on Matt Skiba’s Instagram of him and Mark Hoppus in the studio together, sending fans into a frenzy that a potential new blink album may soon be on the horizon.

“GREAT DAY on the job today with my brother @markhoppus. #feellikemakinsong #pablohorny” Skiba wrote on his post that showed both him and Hoppus in the vocal booth.

Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge spark blink-182 reunion rumors

This Christmas blink -182’s Barker and former guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge sparked even more reunion rumors after the drummer gave his old band member a rather unconventional present.

DeLonge took to Instagram to share a photo with Barker, describing what he received and a perfect response.

“@travisbarker sent me a naked man pic for Christmas, no joke. And it actually made me laugh somethin’ fierce.”

If you gain nothing else from it, it’s further proof the two are still pretty close. Actually, in October 2018, DeLonge and Barker’s friendship caused quite a buzz when some tweet-based interactions made many believe DeLonge could be rejoining blink.

The really long and complicated story of DeLonge’s departure is well-documented. After a lot of back and forth, Hoppus and Barker announced Alkaline Trio‘s Matt Skiba was joining the band. Since then, they went on a number of tours and released an album, 2016’s California.

However, DeLonge kept promising a blink-182 comeback over the years. In December 2017, the musician teased his return to the band, saying Barker contacted him for an interview and clarified that “yes Blinkies, we also talked a bit about other stuff.”

Not long after, Barker posted a picture that got people thinking he was in the studio with the guitarist. The image showed Tom DeLonge’s signature guitar, an ES-333.

Nothing else was said after and blink-182 are currently working on the successor of California with Skiba.

However, in October Barker shared a picture of the guitarist on Twitter with a cryptic caption quoting “I Miss You.”

At the time, it was unclear if Barker was teasing something or just making fun of his old band mate. But as if that wasn’t enough to set the internet ablaze, DeLonge replied with another line from the song.

While many had their fingers crossed for DeLonge’s return, TMZ later reported that the back and forth was merely a “playful Twitter exchange.”
