blink-182 join Goody Grace as he bares his heart on “Scumbag”

blink-182 are fresh off the release of NINE, but the new tunes don’t stop there as they join Goody Grace on “Scumbag.” The release marks the second this year for Grace who dropped “Wasting Time” in July.

The collaboration is months in the making (or years if you take into consideration Grace’s self-proclaimed fandom). Back in November 2018, the vocalist made a dream come true by joining the pop-punk trio as support on two nights of their Las Vegas residency, Kings Of The Weekend.

While in Vegas, Grace joined the band for “Dumpweed,” which he describes as his favorite. Grace’s onstage collaborations didn’t end there as he hit the stage with the band again during their summer run with Lil Wayne. The vocalist lent his talents to “Adam’s Song” at the Forum in Los Angeles in August.

He joined an all-star lineup of appearances alongside All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarthtwenty one pilots’ Josh Dun and FEVER 333’s Jason Butler. Grace rocked with the band once again for the same track on the final night of the tour at Barclays Center in Brooklyn in September.

Now, the onstage collaborations have become even more as Grace teams up with Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus on “Scumbag.”

“blink-182 is the reason I started playing guitar when I was a kid,” Grace shares. “Their music helped me through my entire childhood and teenage years, and I couldn’t be more honored to have them on a song of mine. Travis Barker reached out to me last fall to open for blink in Las Vegas, and we’ve become great friends since then. I hope ‘Scumbag’ can be the anthem for people’s lives such as blink’s entire discography is for me.”

Kyle Cogan (Killswitch Engage, Against The Current, ONE OK ROCK) and Kyle Dunleavy (Breaking Benjamin, Matt Maeson) directed the video. It features Grace struggling with a tumultuous relationship much like the lyrics. Eventually coming to terms with it, he hits a garage with Barker and Hoppus to bring the song full circle.
