Mark Hoppus doesn't want us to know about his new project yet

It looks like Mark Hoppus was just taking in a twenty one pilots performance when he stopped in for an interview at iHeartRadio‘s ALTer EGO 2019 event this past weekend. But, much to the musician’s chagrin, the chat soon reveals that Hoppus may have something fresh in the works. Does the blink-182 member have a new project coming out soon?

“I do, yes,” Hoppus replies before jokingly scolding radio personality Woody for the loose lips. “I’m not at liberty to talk about it tonight. But you will find out about it very soon. Yes, you’re right—you’re not supposed to say something yet!”

So, what is this new project that’s on the way from Mr. Hoppus? While the blink bassist and vocalist jokes it’s “all lies” that he’s working on new music, he confirms his principal outfit are busy working on a follow-up to 2016’s California.

“blink is in the studio right now writing our next record,” Hoppus says of his main musical act. “Very excited about that. And we are planning some live shows that are going to be announced very soon. So blink is still in full-blast mode.”

Meanwhile, all of this excellent information is apparently brought to light thanks to the blink-182 singer’s entertaining parenting skills. It seems the musician mainly brought his kids to see TØP at the iHeartRadio concert, after all.

“Yes, we came down early to see twenty one pilots,” Hoppus humorously deadpans. “Not only am I a good dad, but I’m a good friend to Josh [Dun] from twenty one pilots for coming down and supporting him.”

Well, why doesn’t Mark want to tell us more about his new project? Has he maybe been instructed to keep a lid on it? Perhaps we’ll find out more about the presumably upcoming project from the veteran rock musician at a later time.
