Hoppus has done various features over the years with bands including Neck Deep, All Time Low, Tonight Alive, Motion City Soundtrack and more. Now, he is offering guest vocals on Super Whatevr’s new single “Carhartts & Converse.” He also teamed up with the band to co-write the new song.

For Super Whatevr, their latest collaboration with Hoppus is a dream come true.

“Y’all ever dream of creating art with someone you revere and respect? Yeah, I got to do that with Mark Hoppus,” vocalist Skyler McKee says. “Mark was an amazing person to work with because he’s so open to facilitating these conversations, and he’s just a badass songwriter in general.”

The upbeat “Carhartts & Converse” is all about finding love for yourself and not letting comments from others impact you.

“I wanted to make a song about courage and strength amidst people trying to put you down,” McKee continues. “A song about loving yourself for what you’re worth rather than what others say about you. Enjoy the tune in your clothes that make you feel the most confident and don’t let anyone tell you that you’re worth anything less.”

“Carhartts & Converse” follows up Super Whatevr’s 2020 full-length album don’t you wanna be glad? which is out via Hopeless Records. The album was produced by Courtney Ballard (Good Charlotte, Waterparks).

As for Hoppus, blink-182 have been hard at work recording their follow up to 2019’s NINE. Recently, he shared an acoustic rendition of their 1997 hit “Dammit” on the video game The Last Of Us II. Travis Barker also revealed that a new song called “Quarantine” is set to be released soon.
